On 2 October 2025, we came to the office wearing our favorite batik. Some chose classic family pieces, some went colorful, others kept it simple and comfy. The office looked like a cheerful patchwork—lively, warm, and smile-inducing.
There was no big ceremony. Just light chats about the motifs we wore, why we picked certain colors, and little stories behind each shirt—“this was a gift from my parents,” “bought from an artisan back home,” “this pattern gives me confidence.” Small things like these remind us batik isn’t just fabric: it carries memories of people we love and places we miss.
And of course… the photo session. Not just a formality, but a fun moment you don’t usually see on a work timeline: some camera-shy, some turned into impromptu pose directors, some happily crouched in the front row so everyone fit in the frame. When we looked at the results together, they felt lively, a bit imperfect (in a good way), and very “us.”
For us, celebrating National Batik Day is a simple way to feel connected. Our roles may differ, our teams may be many, but that day we wore the same pride. Hopefully the togetherness doesn’t stop on October 2—may every day carry a bit of batik’s spirit: warmth, patience, and stories.
Happy National Batik Day! Thanks to everyone who joined in. See you at the next celebration—with new motifs and new stories.
